Beautiful Dauphin Island

Dauphin Island is a barrier island located three miles south of the mouth of Mobile Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. Entry to the island is made by crossing a three mile long high rise bridge which was opened in July, 1982 after the original draw bridge was destroyed by Hurricane Frederic in 1979. The entire island has been designated as a bird sanctuary and thousands of visitors come to experience the annual migrations. Many attractions are located on the east end of the island including Fort Gaines, the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Dauphin Island Campground, Audubon Bird Sanctuary and numerous boat launch sites. The beautiful beaches of sugar white sand, public golf course and parks are added attractions located on the west end of the island. Together they make Dauphin Island a wonderful laid-back resort destination. For more information, please call (251) 861-5525.

I loved It!
Days Inn Moulton, Alabama

I can't even describe it to you. It was a amazing experience. I actually went because of a wedding, but the motel was very nice. The staff was very understanding for my family's needs and they did everything to help us. I keep bothering them about little things and every response from them was so sweet. My kids were able to play freely. The town was really quit and everything was just great. We were even put on the same side as my other family members without any request made about this and it was just great because we were able to knock on each others doors without bothering other guest that stayed that night. I could keep going, but that is that.

Activities

Lake Guntersville State Park

Cycling - Road Route - Lake Guntersville State Park Out-and-Back
One reason to visit Guntersville is to stay at Lake Guntersville State Park. While known for its beaches, hiking and boating, the State Park is a popular meeting point for local road bikers to start an easily navigated out-and-back ride that skirts the southern shore of Lake Guntersville for nearly 25 miles all the way to Scottsboro. The road is lightly traveled as it swings in and out of the hills and through the low backwaters at the edge of the lake. It is as scenic as it is challenging. Riders can really amp up the challenge by detouring to Jackson County Road 38 at Langston Gap. By adding on this 21-mile loop to the top end of the route, you can add in a stiff 1.4-mile climb up Sand Mountain. For more information, please call (256) 571-5440.
